The best critique I've seen on "Outliers"

BOOK REVIEW: "Mister Lucky," by Isaac Chotiner, New Republic, 4 February 2009.

Really worth reading. It's devastating to the extent you might have thought that Gladwell's "emperor" was "well dressed" in the first place, but it's also just intelligent and fun to read.

The big point for me: arguing against the self-made man is not a good idea in these times. We need all of them that we can get, so please, don't try to sell us that it's all preordained by context.
