I'm glad to see Obama working toward the center. I was hoping that would be the case. Most of the 'tribe', the American people during an elections cycle, are often no more than the audience sitting in the left of right quadrant of the grand olde' political theater.

The reality is that when the candidate wins the 'CHAIR' everything changes and real solutions requires pragmatic problem solving people.

I guess that is why there is such of understanding amongst most 'former Presidents'....

Some of my right sided friends are having problems keeping the fight going and I always remark that Obama will have a few years to get the job done (or going in the prosperous direction). Like the comedian Dennis Miller says in effect: (paraphrase) 'he may not by my guy, but he is my president'...'i hope he is so successful that in four years i can't wait to vote for him next time around'. What a great testament to our Union of States.

He picked mostly adults. But, the kids are not all going to be happy.

Karl Rove praises Obama's cabinet choices and that's good enough for me.

Speaking as one of those right wing fear mongers, with some basis for those fears in Obama's background, I am like many others who are, so far, relieved to perceive a centrist orientation in his appointments.

Let's see how he does after, as Harry Truman put it "the sun, the moon and the stars" fall on him, in a few weeks.

As with every new president, I always ask myself, "who would want the job?" But there are always lots of people who do.

It does take a real freak, all right. I can't remember the last normal one, except perhaps Ford.
