Th Great Powers manuscript arrived in galley proof form, which means a slightly pale xeroxed version of the proof sheets, giving me a sense of what it will look like in print.
With ten pages reserved for the index, it comes to 472. PNM was 435 and BFA was 440.
Mark and I have until next Tuesday to do a serious edit. Then that version will be stitched together as "bound galleys"--the cheapish earliest book version of the book.
Naturally, my life will revolve around this for the next few days. Warren and I will have a marathon phonecon probably Monday for me to relay to him all my fixes/additions and for him to reveal his. He'll add mine to his copy and send that one over to Putnam.
Very exciting time. Probably my favorite point in the whole process.
