Dr barnett ,it is amplely clear, that when the Iranians are left to thier domestic issues,we see the democracy start rolling. It seems though,
the Bush's adminstration needs the Iranian regime's help in Iraq &
Afganistan, also in lebnon and the situation in Gaza, for its future plan
,so it is very pausable,to imagine a secret agreement between the mullas and the Bush,in return for more Iranian regime's influence in
what the mullas like to call the second shia state;the Iraq.to me the
best bet for US is to stay with the democracy side in Iran for a secular Government and its affects throughout the middleeast, rather
than dealing with this one.Obviously, this is out of question with Bush
,so we have to wait for the new policy with the next president.

Dr. Barnett,
It's never lovely to see. Why is our misery lovely for you to watch?
Iranian Students are crushed and put to prison everyday. I think as an strategist you know they can't achieve anything against the regime... Your TED talk was an inspiration and I know many Iranians wait for the world to adapt such thing. why didn't it happen?

Ali, the point, of course, is lack of public support for Iran's authoritarian goverment, not the suffering of students

Dear Ali,
Freedom loving Americans, including Dr. Barnett, are encouraged by Iranian dissenters against the repressive regime of the Mullahs so it is "always lovely to see" the Iranian public dissenting and demonstrating for freedom in Iran.
If the Iranian public could rise up in revolution to implement a free and democratic government in Iran, the costs of blood and treasure, along with the political complications, of a liberation of Iran by the West could be avoided. Your dissent gives Americans and other Westerners HOPE that you will take your own country back, from tyranny.
It is very positive indeed to see you are watching Dr. Barnett's website and commenting on it as well. Keep the faith and keep up the good fight sir!
