Just heard our Provost talk about our large, land grant R1 setting up an outpost in Dubai. Plenty of dividends; the stereotypes that fall from the mixed exchange is good.
Just remember the only two types of people in the world speak the same language are scientists and farmers.

interesting fact, Chad. where did it come from?
maybe they both speak the same language (modernism) because they haven't yet absorbed the postmodern critique ;-)

That was a quip from our Provost discussing a trade mission to Europe. The EU wonks were complaining about unfair American farm policies; the Americans and EU farmers wandered off into farm fields discussing production techniques. Classic.
