Africom could learn a lot from SouthCom

ARTICLE: A US military leader stresses ideas over firepower, By Gordon Lubold, The Christian Science Monitor, July 3, 2007

Stavridis is one of the smartest guys the Navy has, and Africom could learn a lot from his approach at SouthCom.

Seems like Africom is going to be SysAdmin v. ???something, right?

In a sense, employed in a place like Africa, we almost have pre-emptive SysAdmin to keep an area stable as it transitions from Gap to Core long term. I think that's pretty cool.
