Dr.Barnett, you underestimate the exponential growth of information technologies and the implications that follow. Are you familiar with the analyses of computer scientist Ray Kurzweil, author of, "The Law of Accellerating Returns?"

Thomas: I enjoyed again your give and take with Hugh, but again like last week, I am not sure Hugh truly understands let alone agrees with your take on China. Its almost as if he's the old guard you mention not willing to see the new paradigm and the economic interconnectivity between China and the USA and the world and where that will take us and others.

William:
Explain your statement. I am often accused of the opposite crime (overestimating IT's impact), so how am I underestimating?

Tom, you have said several times that if we left Iraq before winning the peace then we will be back. Help me understand your position, because I can envision a scenario where we could ignore it like we do with the Sudan. What would bring us back; oil, or a terrorist base? Why couldn't we just retreat from this problem like Europe does? I'm not suggesting this as a policy, just trying to understand your position.

Unless this guy's really intent on making this point every week!
