Feeney and Barnett to appear on Book TV's After Words

(Washington, DC)

This weekend, C-SPAN2/Book TV will air an episode of After Words featuring U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney (R-Oviedo) interviewing best selling author and national security analyst Thomas P.M. Barnett. The two discuss Barnett's latest book, Blueprint for Action: A Future Worth Creating.

Barnett has been called the "most influential defense intellectual writing these day," by the Washington Post, and his debut, The Pentagon's New Map, was a New York Times bestseller.

This episode of After Words will air on CSPAN2/BookTV:

Saturday October 29, 2005 at 8:00 PM
and Sunday October 30, 2005 at 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM (all times are eastern time zone)

More information on the airing on BookTV website

"Dr. Barnett is one of the most intelligent and well informed authorities on issues of national security. Many of the most important individuals in Washington rely on his counsel and advice. It was a privilege to interview him for After Words. I'm sure casual observers and defense policy experts alike will find this episode entertaining and controversial and will enjoy his latest book, Blue Print for Action," said Feeney.

"It was a real thrill to have someone of Rep. Tom Feeney's stature interview
me on 'After Words.' It told me that serious political dialogue on my ambitious grand strategy, to both win a Global War on Terrorism and build a future worth creating for the planet as a whole, is not only possible in Washington but eminently real, meaning it's not just proceeding a pace in the Pentagon but finding significant traction on the Hill. I look forward to future interactions like this great discussion with Mr. Feeney," added Barnett.
